What is a DLI?

DLI stands for Dedicated Learning Institution. According to the Government of Canada, a designated learning institution is a school approved by a provincial or territorial government to host international students.

There is a DLI list available in Canada. If you plan to attend a post-secondary school, please make sure it is on this list.

All primary and secondary schools in Canada are designated learning institutions. They aren’t included in this list.

For international students, one of the major difference is: after graduation, only students from DLIs are allowed to apply for Post Graduate Work Permit and can start to work immediately after PGWP has been applied.
